Strike while the iron is hot
Ubuntu one, Canonical’s long running cloud storage program just got a little better today. Users are now able to invite friends and family to the program and be rewarded. Unlike most referral based rewards, this one gives twice! It works quite simply.
If you invite a friend to Ubuntu One, Canonical will credit your account by 500MB, per invite. Sound like a good deal? Wait, it gets better. Canonical will also credit your referral by 500MB as well. You both win! There are limits however. You will only be able to invite up to 40 friends. Even still, if you are able to achieve that grand feat, you will have increased your Ubuntu One storage by 20GB.
Not too shabby.
On an even more positive note, there doesn’t seem to be any other small print to get you worried. The storage that you accrue through referrals will never expire.
From Ubuntu One:
Spread the word and get rewarded by inviting all your friends and family to Ubuntu One. For each person you refer both of you will get 500 MB extra storage if they sign up via this link:

Its for everyone
Worried about having to convert a friend to Ubuntu so that they can take advantage of these services? Don’t be. Ubuntu One is a cross-platform application that will run on Windows and Mac too. In fact, it will even run on Windows XP. There are also Android and iOS clients available. In addition, some clever individual has even managed to integrate Ubuntu One with KDE.
All in all, this sound like a pretty good deal. There is no set expiration on this promotion, so if I were you I would strike while the iron is hot. There is no telling when this opportunity will disappear.
