Splash, Crash, Ride, Bass!
WordPress, everyone’s favorite open source comtent management system, reached version 3.5 today. Introduced with the release is a bevy of new features that are sure the leave the first half of the 3.x series in the dust.
WordPress says that among the most outstanding features are a “completely re-imagined flow for uploading photos and creating galleries”, among other things. Also, for those of you who have been misled to believe that WordPress 3.5 is here to pay tribute to the elves, you’re wrong. Here’s what WordPress had to say about it:
It’s the most wonderful time of the year: a new WordPress release is available and chock-full of goodies to delight bloggers and developers alike. We’re calling this one “Elvin” in honor of drummer Elvin Jones, who played with John Coltrane in addition to many others.
Here is a short video, detailing the particulars about this release:
Among what;s already been mentioned, users are now able to tag plugins for making re-installations easier, as well as a Tumblr importer, which seems like a super-cool feature for Tumblr bloggers who are ready to make the next big step in the blogosphere.
What are we most excited about here at The Powerbase? Hmmm… We are usually scared to upgrade, and any release with a feature list like what’s on offer here, along with the introduction of new ways of doing things, is doubly frightening. But no worries, we will be giving it a shot shortly and hopefully have something valuable to share about it!
Finally, we leave you with a little Elvin Jones, in the most clynical sense. Enjoy!
